Dear Reader,
 I have a little story to tell this month. I was recently contacted by our repair department about an encoder that they received that was originally manufactured in 1981. It had been in service nearly 29 years in a machine shop environment and was being sent in for refurbishment. It needed a new bearing set and an electronic retest and it was ready to go back into service. I found it refreshing to know that in today's fast paced world where marketing hype so often replaces substance, that simple things like a well made and operated product says more about what really counts than the latest Internet video ever could. Have you ever heard some clever quote and then amazed your friends by being able to identify the source? If so, then this next section is just for you. If not, then you may just pick up an item or two that you can use to impress your friends - or at least win a bar bet or two.
